GET IT RIGHT

 

If you believe > confess the following: 

There is 1 God … Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

Father, I have sinned.

Your Son Jesus died for my sins.

Please forgive my sins … if you are sincere, you are forgiven.

Jesus, I accept you as Lord of my life. Please come into my heart by your Holy Spirit & help me to be like you … to follow your Word, obey your commandments & do your will, not mine … as you help me grow.

Thank you, Jesus.

 

Congratulations … you are saved from the eternal consequences of your sins & born again into God’s spiritual family, by His Holy Spirit that is now in you, not just around you … you have a fresh start … a new beginning!

 

Tell another follower of Jesus as God provides opportunity. 

Be baptized by any true believer as God directs. 

Read the Bible* as much as possible & hang out with Christians of good character. 

Ask God to connect you with good teaching resources … persons, organizations, media & materials. 

Get involved … be part of the team. 

Share the GOOD NEWS … as God, your ability & circumstance enables you. 

 

A LITTLE INSIGHT FOR THE JOURNEY … 

God has truly made it this simple to be saved, so there is no excuse. Salvation is free but the walk will cost you everything … moment by moment will you seek His will & do it … or your own … the summation of these choices for the rest of your life will determine your final destination. Jesus said, But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.[1] (Mathew 24: 13). We must seek & complete the task He has created for us. 

Thank God there is continual forgiveness along the way … if we seek it … but be careful not to take His grace for granted. 

If we seek His truth & will … & perform it … life becomes an awesome adventure in spite of the adversities. Alternatives result in confusion & ultimately … DISASTER !!!

 

So … just … DO IT !!! 

Interestingly, when things get intense, I like to look up & say, “Lord, it’s going to be interesting to see what you do with this situation.” 

The Bible is a big book with a few critical truths repeated many times in many ways to give wisdom in diverse circumstances. Its main truths are so simple a child can comprehend them … yet so deep you can receive knowledge, understanding & wisdom for the rest of your life. The key is to graciously accept the insights God simplistically reveals as one continues to read & study … do not struggle to understand. It is important to desire insight but pushing it can lead to deception. While not being idle, we need to balance our pursuit of understanding with the humble fact that we are not God & we will always have questions. Also, do not let what we do not know get in the way of what we do know. Pray & compare insights with other Christian disciples & teachers. If you only listen to yourself you will deceive yourself … if you only listen to others without doing your own studying, you will be deceived by others. Of course above all, seek God without prejudice … avoiding self interest. Do this & you will never understand everything but God will make sure you know what you need to know … when you need to know it. Also, the more you put to use & share what you learn with others … both believers & unbelievers … the more God will enlighten you … even as you speak.  

Many make the mistake of being captivated by what they want & how they can get it or what they do not want & how they can avoid it … instead of what is right & how can they help it happen … whether it happens or not. It truly is how we play the game not whether we win or lose. Where we spend eternity determines winning or losing.  

There are many truths outside the Bible, but not outside God, for He is the truth & He does not contradict himself. We can not discover anything He does not know. Thus, any contradiction to the Bible is wrong, no matter how apparently convincing; eventually to be proven wrong, even if not until Judgment Day. This will be a perpetual test for the rest of this life; a major determination of representing or denying  God's truths; thus representing or denying Him, because God is Truth thus the foundation of all truth. *

 

Some Positive Motivation: 

The last 2 chapters of the bible … Revelation 21 & 22 … reveal how wonderful eternity with God will be like. However, our primary motive should never be what we can get but what we can give … as Jesus served others & gave His life for us … so we are to serve & give our lives for others.  

Chapter 13 of 1 Corinthians essentially defines ‘LOVE’ as doing what is best (pleasant or harsh) to & for others regardless of self-consequence. 1 John 4 … ⁷Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. ⁸He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. [2]  

Romans 8:28 … all things (even our mistakes) work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. [3]
